"This is My War", released on November 15, 2014, is a survival-themed strategy simulation game. The story describes a group of civilians who only want to survive in attacked cities. They have shortage of food and medicine, and they have to beware of the tension between snipers and scavengers at all times. Players use the game to understand the feelings of civilians in war from different angles.
The game's clear description of reality, that morality has been eroded under the weight of war, its depth has broken the boundaries of the game industry, and has also won a place in famous pavilions such as the Imperial War Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and continued to raise funds for "War Children" through charity DLC. In February 2022, after Russia invaded Ukraine, the development team donated all the sales revenue of "This is My War" in one week, raising US$850,000 for the Ukrainian Red Cross.
In addition, This is My War has impacted the global academic environment, providing lecturers with a unique way to understand the cruel reality of war. This game became the first electronic game to be officially recognized as an "auxiliary teaching material" by the Polish Ministry of Education. The education version can be provided free of charge to Polish students and teachers on government websites. Recently, the game received a special recognition award from Amnesty International to recognize its role in raising awareness of international humanitarian law.
However, despite so much praise, people are still upset about the situation of the world today. The developer said: "The world still needs repair." This is why the new DLC is named "Dirty Celebration". Officials pointed out: "Innocent lives are still dead on the battlefield, new conflicts are constantly erupting, arms manufacturing continues to escalate to meet the needs of war, civilians and soldiers are still facing unimaginable atrocities. The world is bleeding, and we believe that it is crucial to continue to push for change."
In "Diagnostic Celebration", players will return to the war-torn Pogoren and follow the story of an experienced war correspondent Katia. As she was working to write a book about the reality of cruel war, a missile attack destroyed her homeland, forcing her to fight a harsher battle to survive and restore the material she collected.
"All the proceeds from DLC's "Directed Celebration" will be donated to our charitable partners during this anniversary event: War Children, International, Free Ukraine Foundation and Polish Independent Games Foundation."
More information about "This is My War" DLC "Delusion Celebration" will be released later.
